Idea Napkin No. 2 - 19A

1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?
I am a junior UFO student in the Warrington College of Business. I have over 4 years of experience in the Human Resources field. I love traveling and experiences new and different cultures, I would love to one day live overseas. If I were to start my business venture, I would market it to all. It would be my main priority and it will benefit parents all around the world.
2) What are you offering to customers?
I am offering a sensor device for cars and child safety. It can detect unsafe temperatures in cars and alert parents if their child is still in the vehicle. This product can prevent child heatstroke in vehicles. This device would be able to be bought separately or sold to car manufacturers as well as car seat manufacturers.
3) Who are you offering it to?
The demographics of my customers are mainly parents. Parents and caregivers that have children under the age of 14. Parents and caregivers that have busy routines and have cars. Parents of any age, but typically younger parents, 25-35. What they all have in common is that they have children.
4) Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe its value to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.
My product will provide a sense of safety and reassurance. This product is a proactive security measure, and I think many parents will purchase this because their child’s safety is their number 1 priority. Through my past interviews, parents said that they would pay money to assure their child’s safety.
5) What are your core competencies?
I think that these elements fit together. Parent’s willing to purchase devices to ensure their child’s safety and my device. Like I mentioned in my previous Idea Napkin, there is no current solution to this product on the market. There are so many parents just in the United States with children under the age of 14 that can benefit from my product. I think the one weaker concern I had before was the engineering and design of my product but I think that it is a relatively simple concept.
On my first idea napkin, a comment mentioned that parents fear for their children’s safety constantly and that it is their number one concern and that people will invest in this because it can prevent a life or death situation. Also stating that the engineering part of the design wasn’t weak. That helped me realize that this product can be made realistically today and marketed to all.

Comments

  1. I think this product would do very well in the market. Many lives would be saved if this product were used. Safety is the number one priority for parents and I think it is very important for them to purchase this product. I feel like this product can be sold to manufacturers that way all cars can have it installed already when buying a new car.

  2. I have been commenting on your product for awhile now and I absolutely love it. I think this would useful to so many people around the world. If the product works with all cars that would be perfect so all car owners can use it. It not only saves children's lives but it will also save pet's lives. Your demographic you chose is also spot on. Good Work.
